What is downhill skiing in Vermont like in late March?

I am going to Vermont last week of March, first week of April and was curious what the skiing is usually like that time of year. We are staying near Okemo. Thanks for your help.

skiing in vermont is great, especially okemo killington area, i find skiing in vermont the best in march, because jan and feb is way to cold, to cold to really enjoy yourself, i speak form experience, buy march skking also depends on the conditions that they have had that season, so check for local updates by checking out there web site okemo.com and clink on weather and or ski report, check on the base amount of snow. have a great safe time

It's a c**p shoot.

Last year it sucked. Wet, sticky snow one day, gritty slush the next, hard pack ice the day after that....etc.etc.

'06 was great. Nice loose granular..wet, but not sloppy until late in the day.

Overall, spring skiing is pretty good in VT, but conditions vary from hour to hour. For the most part, you'll encounter a lot of loose granular...maybe even corn. However, be prepared for ice. Usually, the snow cover hasn't gone away. Give it two weeks and you'll be dodging dirt spots. However...an early thaw can bring on Mud Season very rapidly.

Keep one eye on the weather channel and if you have two sets of skis...bring both. Wax one for slush and another for ice.

As always, it depends on how the season that led up to March. I skiied Killington in late April. There was some late season snow last year. On average, it is usually the best in the eastern United States at that time of year, but at the same time, I don't have a crystal ball.

If you plan to go skiing in vermont in march, then i recommend the ski resort Bolton Valley. THey have AWESOME ski trails and, fresh powder snow. I love it up there. People are nice (most), and i just really enjoy it. Bolton Valley is going to be open till april 7th, or around there.
