  1. "Dual tandem" means that each main landing gear has four wheels. Two pairs one in front of the other. Look at the main gear on the A330 in the picture linked below and you will have an idea of what it looks like.

    Adding more wheels spreads the aircraft weight out over a larger surface area.


  2. Probably something only a Buff Person would know.  That would be the only A/C that had tandem main gear.

    Dual means more than one wheel.  Tandem means you have two in the same axis.

    Edit:  The Buff may be the only monster whose main gear was centerline,  Most Mains are astride. Like a lizard.
