  1. Based on astrological associations, actually Mercury is air and Mars is fire.  Jupiter is air, Saturn is earth, Neptune is water, Uranus is air.

  2. That wouldn't really work out because if we were to replace everything on and in Venus with water, then there wouldn't be enough gravity to keep it all together, and it wouldn't be a planet anymore. If Mercury was all fire with no core, then again, there is nothing keeping it in hydrostatic equilibrium which is fancy wording for saying that it is in a spherical shape as a result of its own gravity.

As for Mars, it is was only dirt then it might be in an oblong shape at best, but without a solid core, it wouldn't be in a spherical shape. And one of the criteria the IAU set for a celestial body to be considered a planet is that they have to be in a spherical shape as a result of their own gravity.

If there was still a solid core in these planets, then we would still have some problems. Mercury is small and would burn out fairly quickly. Venus is close to the sun so the water there probably would boil... but with the thick atmosphere it has, I supose it would rain back down even though it is a very hot planet. Its the hottest in the solar system because it is volcanic but mainly because of its thick atmosphere.

  3. Fire, water and dirt are not elements.  Try rephrasing your question.

  4. Okay - there are 103 elements on the Periodic Table.

But there are only 8 planets in our solar system.

And they have found over 300 exoplanets so far.

So something doesn't add up logically.

  5. and how would you like to decide which one corresponds to which element???

both uranus and neptune are blue... both mercury and mars are red there is no white planet, and no black planet (the only way each planet could correspond to the elements was if you did the whole light, dark, fire, water, thunder, earth, wind, ice element tree.... 8 planets, 8 elements.)
