  1. Airplane, to fly a helicopter your using one hand to control the stick, and the other to control the  collective. Plus ther are controls controlled by your feet as well.  Airplane you make your run set the throttles set your flap settings and pull up on either the stick or wheel.  Having worked with both types of pilots I think the helicopter pilots enjoyed it more except for fighter pilots or small aircraft pilots.

  2. Neither is easier or harder than the other. They are different aircraft. It would be like asking someone if it is easier to drive a flat bottom boat or a jet ski.

When I had an FBO, if someone wanted to learn to fly both airplanes and helicopters, I always started teaching helicopters first. The reason being that there are no bad habits to worry when going from helicopter to airplanes, but quite a few that can cause problems the other way around.

  3. An areoplane, helicopters are a tad bit hard to control when hovering or air taxiing, and they have to land on spots rather than using the full length runway. I'm an air traffic controller in the military.

  4. Airplane is the easiest a heli not only has an elavator but a gyro so easy way of saying it  it rotates to the side also

  5. AEROPLANE.

  6. airplane, you need a lot more coordination for a helicopter.

  7. they both have autopilot

  8. airplane.

  9. helicopter

  10. I have flown both, and I love both but for different reasons.

To answer your question in general terms airplanes are far more easily controlled by their pilots, therefore easier to fly.

There are many reasons for this,  However I wont bore you with the mechanics of flight in this answer.

I will say for now that airplanes work in harmony with the air, even if they loose power after of course other parameters have been met. Were as helicopters by their very nature in order to attain and sustain flight must beat  the air into submission and do not always win.

  11. airplane is easier to fly

helicopter is much more susceptible to wind and other factors and require much more training and coordination to control

with an airplane you only have three things to consider. speed altitude and forward movement

with a helicopter you need to consider hovering, movement in all directions, winds that an aeroplane would normally be able to handle, altitude, speed, and different kinds of stalls and not to mention you need to be able to anticipate the helicopters tendencies and correct with proper cyclic/rudder pressure before things escalate and you lose total control.

  12. could be that some here have thousands of hours in both as i do and will refute what i say, but one is as easy as  the other. helicopter pilots solo in about the same number of hours, 9 for me, as the airplane students if taught.  the suckers are just different thats all.  both the same level of difficulty.
