What is easier to get away with without looking like a drag queen...?

Question

brightly coloured eyeliner (ie green, turqoise, purple, pink)

or eyeshadow? (ditto the colours) i have dark brown hair and eyes, mediteranean complexion please advise =)

ive heard that purple eyeliner on the bottom eyelid tends to bring out dark eyes but only so as long as its like a deep plum and not like bright purple.

I was all set to say a Gorilla suit 'til you said you are female.

My boys and I all agree.  Less is more.  keep the colours as subtle as possible and we can't help looking into beautiful eyes.  Otherwise we keep looking at the rainbows.

its the old saying lovie for daytime less is more and for clubbing well pile the most brightest colours on.

either OR...but do NOT i repeat do NOT EVER wear lipliner - so trashy and drag queens always go for that look! lol

Wear one, but not both.  If you wear the bright eyeliner, anchor it with a dark, neutral eyeshadow and black mascara.  If you wear the bright eyeshadow, anchor it with black eyeliner and black mascara.  If you keep the eyeshadow on your lid only and do not extend it past the crease you will not look like a drag queen.

I make a line of black eyeliner on the top lid and then put a line of the colored eyeliner on top of that. You can do it on the outer 1/2 of the eye on the bottom too, but I just do the outer 1/3 in black. Also I'll do purple eyeliner with some light colored shiny brown eyeshadow so the color looks muted and not all crazy. I still think green by itself looks silly on me though. I have black hair, brown eyes and medium skin.
