What is easier to learn snowboarding or skiing?

I'm going to Colorado w/ my boyfriend and his family over Christmas. I've never skied or snowboarded. I'm pretty athletic and catch on quickly.

Which one would be easier to learn, and enjoy for a first timer?

ive done both ive skied in austria and snowbaorded in tamworth (dry ski slop) and well i found skiing alot easyier and i skateboard plus it much more fun than snowboarding because you fall off alot snowboard and than skiing

so id say skiing easier to learn and is better dont do snowboarding

well my opinion is that sking is a lot easier to learn than snowboarding....but I think that snowboarding is a lot more funner.The reason being is that snow boarding take a lot more energy and you have to have a lot of balance.....skate boaring might help a lot w/ that. sking on the other hand is easier because you still have to have some balance but you can use both of your legs rather than just using your hips to turn and guide you. So if I were you and this is your first time doing either I would try sking first and then maybe later try snow boarding.....cus thats what I did and once uve got sking down its easier to get snow boarding. But snow boarding is definately much harder than sking....but im sure you can get it over time. Good luck!  : )

Ok so I do both and what I found is that, Skiing is easier to learn, but harder to master. And snowboarding is harder to learn but easier to master.

If you can iceskate, or rollerblade skiing is probably better choice.

If you can skateboard then snowboaring for sure.

I also found that girls catch on a lot more quickly on snowboards and skies then men because they have a better center of gravity.

what seems easier to you, roller-skating or skateboarding? I learned how to ski when I was little (maybe 5 or 6). I learned to snowboard when I was about 12. I am 15 now. Its easy to stay upright with skiing, and you can always use poles to help you turn. Snowboarding is hard because both of your feet are together and its a bit uncomfortable. When you turn, sometimes your back is facing the bottom of the hill. I personally like skiing better because there is more control.
