I came across a word called ecchi in one of the YA questions and I never heard of it.It sounds perverted lol.I heard of yaoi which is literally g*y anime but never ecchi.I don't want to search it up and get hentai images that can get me into big trouble.

  1. Ecchi is derived from the Japanese pronunciation of the letter "H", the first letter in the word hentai (as spelled in romaji). Ecchi is another way to say "perverted" in Japanese, but its connotation is not as strong as hentai. Anime that contain a lot of sexual humor but no outright pornography are often referred to as ecchi, examples include Love Hina and to a lesser extent Ranma 1/2.

  2. It means "s**y" or "naughty" it is similar to hentai except referring to anime or manga it means vague sexual content or skimpy clothing or partial nudity.

    ugh :P

  3. Never heard of it, but here is a wikipedia link.

  4. yep..there you go.

as what they said ecchi animes are the type that "s**y but not to the extent of pornography"

you may see some shots of bikinis, brassieres, cleavages & stuff.

animes classified as ecchi are most often funny, to make up for the 'sexiness' that the anime got.

Ive watched a couple of it

like Ichigo 100% & School days

although im not into watching ecchi/s**y animes but in some ways, the comedy part is what makes ecchi animes fun to watch.

here is a list of some ecchi animes:

  5. hentai includes full nudity and s*x.

ecchi on the other hand, contains only partial nudity (bikini's, underwear etc.) and some pervertedness for example bouncing boobies and panty shots xD

  6. ecchi is basically manga with a little bit of sexuality like girls in bikini or skimpy clothes or a s*x scne once in a while
