  1. Well it might be erythritol tetranitrate that you are talking about.

If so, it has some use as an explosive.  Boom.

EDIT thanks for the thumbs down to the bozo below me who just dug up c**p on erythritol.

I somehow believe that erythritol was not what you were looking for, since it is easy to search on it's own.  Instead, your misspelling of tetranitrate as "tetranite" likely is what brought you here.

  2. Drop the tetranite...not needed...

Erythritol is the sugar alcohol (polyol) that has the least impact on blood sugar. Erythritol has almost zero calories, carbs, and glycemic index. The reason is a bit different that most sugar alcohols, which are only partially absorbed in the small intestine. Most (60-90%) of the erythritol is absorbed into the blood, but is then excreted in the urine. Because of this, erythritol tends to produce much less intestinal distress than other sugar alcohols.

Long story short - it's a sugar alcohol that is -0- calories.

Update - If it is erythritol tetranitrate you're looking for, check this out...goes so far as to give the chemical compound:  http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Erythritol_...
