What is essential for the wolf pack’s survival?

I know it is essential for the wolf pack to survive.

But what does it need? What are essential for their survival? And why?

A wolf pack requires a large territory to survive, which must contain enough prey to support the pack as well as places to sleep, play, drink, den and so on. The pack itself is essential to the wolf's survival - they are intensely social animals that must rely on each other at all times. They prey upon animals up to ten times larger than they are, which one wolf alone could never hope to kill - to feed themselves, they must work together as a co-ordinated team. They also defend their territory and raise their young as a unit. The most important thing in this day and age for a wolf pack's survival is to be left alone by humans. We have a greater impact on them than any natural factor, by killing them, hunting their prey and destroying their habitat.
