Supposedly if you switch makes of cars like Tony Stewart and Ryan Newman are they will not be included.

  1. All in all I like it. Hate some of the big names will miss out next year but it'll cycle out for 2010. They had to do something with Coors Light sponsoring the pole awards this year....I think it's an interesting concept. Just an opinion of course.

  2. I asked a question like, 4 seconds ago worded just like this.

    Anyways, it SUCKS.

It just proves that sponsors drive the sport. Coors Light does the pole awards now, and Bud didn't want the event to be in ANYWAY related to another beer sponsor, how horrible.

So the event that used to be about getting poles to race, becomes a manufacture parity retarded thing. Where the Michael Waltrip toyotas race and blow engines and the Hendrick Chevys and Roush fords dominate. The only Non Roush ford is Travis Kavpil.

Now poles mean nothining, there's no reward for it or anything, just "hey I won a pole, good for me."

and NO PAST WINNERS OF THE EVENT

    no Jeff Burton

    no Mark Martin

    no tony stewart

instead we get JUAN PABLO, DAVID RUETIMAN, MICHAEL WALTRIP and CASEY MEARS.

    wow.

  3. it's now a manufacturers races, nothing to do with anything other than bragging rights for whatever make of car wins. the only reason i'll watch is by then i'll be aching for any NASCAR racing...

  4. It allright. Just a little inconvenient with the funny season but it will cycle through for next year as the other answerer posted. Figures Im a Stewart fan lol...But Im also going to root for my home state driver/crew chief...Lagano and Zippi! So that worked out good! Go 20 and 14!

  5. not really a fan. im afraid that we will see the same drivers over and over

  6. I don't like it at all. To race in the Shootout has always been a reward for winning or getting the pole. I understand about the Bud/Coors Light thing, but it is going to leave out some of the top drivers & bring in some of the not so great.

  7. i take it as c**p right now

  8. It goes on car owner points which excludes Stewart and Newman. I love it because Elliott is in it now! :)
