Just think of how grateful we are going to be when the powers that be lower the gas prices 10 cents for us!  As  for what we are going to do, what have we ever been able to do when prices and taxes rose?

Oh sure, the truckers strike got such great support from the consumers that...well you saw.  

What are you going to do besides Yell?  I plan to Drive a whole lot less, no side trips, I plan where I am going and what I am going to be doing.  We cancelled our vacation because we cannot afford air tickets or gas.  They cannot make us spend our money.  

Drop demand. Do not drive unless you have to.   Drive LOTS less, car pool and eventually...eventually the big companies will understand that no one is supporting their excesses.

We can make synthetic oil out of coal.  We have a 200 year supply of coal in this country.  

In the 80's, we threatened OPEC that we would switch to synthetic oil, and they responded by lowering the price of oil so that switching to synthetics would not be profitable (or drilling and refining our own, for that matter.)

It would cost $55.00 per barrel to convert coal to oil, add $10-$30.00 for government "carbon" regulations once Congress decides on what those would be, and we would still be able to bring the price of oil well below $100.00.  Gasoline would come down below $3.00.

All Congress needs to do is act.

Any one who thinks boycotting the oil companies or driving less is crazy. They are making triple profits each quarter. Not buying gas for a day, or from particular gas companies MIGHT bring their profits down to... oh,say... double profits. Maybe.

The only thing that is going to get ANYONE'S attention is if we stop using gas.

How?

GET CREATIVE! It's not like there aren't people out there who are engineers or just good with their hands... that couldnt come up with a solution if they put their minds to it. s***w "alternative gas". Make a new d**n engine! Find a creative way to hook up a battery. The alternatives aren't that far out of reach. The problem is people are just too d**n lazy. (And there's the fear that the oil companies will make them disappear.....) But if a product like that got out.... even anonymously.... it WOULD catch in a heartbeat... IF enough people heard about it. It would have to have practical application to the common man (who pays someone else to do a simple oil change). Something easy to impliment.

So PLEASE! Pass this thought along. If you know someone creative like this.... encourage them. America needs this.

Next time you get an email announcing a national "boycott" on a few oil companies.... try putting this idea out instead.
