  1. I would have to go with Remington. I really like the model 700 almost anything. I'm not happy with the 710, 770, and Spartan line.

  2. My favorite is Ruger. I have 7 Ruger rifles and have killed about 45 deer with them. They shoot good and aren't too expensive.

  3. does not get better than an old Winchester. Just my opinion.

  4. Bolt action the Remington 700 is a good gun.  Locks up tight and accurate.  For a single shot I like the Ruger No 1.  They are super strong and can be rechambered into anything you want.  Marlin for a lever gun.  They are strong and reliable.

  5. My favorite rifle company is Bushmaster and I own one of their AR-15's.

  6. I like Ruger for any firearm. They have a lifetime warranty and not only that, if you ever have to ship back for service they pay the shipping both ways. Doesn't get any better than that.

  7. This question is really tearing me to pieces.  There are so many great companies out there its really hard to pick only one.  I have been shooting for quite some time now, at home and in Iraq.  For a standard rifle I must go with remington (model 700).  It is true what most say, it is the best out-of-the box rifle system.  If you want to get into the world of assault style rifles I would have to choose Hk for a m4carbine with colt being #2.  I actually own several rifles from DPMS they are based out of st. cloud MN and they put together some great AR style weapons.  But, for an all purpose rifle I got to give it to remington for their 700 model.  (caliber choice would efffect my decision).  .300 mag / .308 preferred

  8. Remington. Good prices, good guns.

  9. I have both and love them. Also if you don't mind single shot's Thomson Center is a good brand you can switch barrels if you want to shoot another caliber.

  10. For most guns, Savage. They build good, no frills guns that just work. For lever guns, Marlin.

  11. Browning- the quality of their guns and the dependability of their automatics are the best on the market at the mass produced level- I have owned and still own a pistol , 3 shotguns, 2 high power rifles and one 22 rifle all Browning made- the only flaw, is the 22 caliber rifle is not super accurate. You might say that I am brand loyal. I own several Remington guns, that I bought over the years- I just can't seem to part with any gun that I ever bought. - and I like the Browning's a good bit better- However, in the shot gun lineup, my Remington's are easier to hit moving targets with then the Browning's.The next person may have the exact opposite point of view- It is all a matter of individual likes and dislikes. But it doesn't matter- we are all gun lovers!

  12. remington not to pricey and is dependable

  13. Winchester model 70 with the claw extractor.  They are now built by Browning.
