  1. if your essay is interesting and well-written, you have good extracurriculars, and an overall good-looking application, you'll be fine.

it would be a good idea to retake the ACT.

don't slack off senior year, and be good to your teachers - you'll be asking them for letters of recommendation once you start applying to schools.

if you feel like your list of extracurricular activities is lacking, join a new club/sport/group or two this year.  it's not a ton of extra effort but it helps make you look like a person who puts effort into their school life.

    good luckkkk =)

  2. Talk to your high school guidance counselor -- he/she will help you find colleges that will accept your ACT score.  There are a few colleges that don't even require it.

I'm surprised -- your GPA is decent and isn't reflected in your ACT score.  Did you have extra training in how to take the ACT?  That might raise your score.

You can go to http://www.campusexplorer.com/  or www.petersons.com  to compare colleges and see your likelihood of entrance acceptance.  Campus Explorer will tell you this according to your personal information, and Petersons will be more generic in nature.

Good luck.  College isn't out of the question for you, it's just that your ACT score is going to be something that you're going to have to deal with.

  3. Great GPA for starters! I know someone already stated how your ACT score doesn't reflect your high gpa and i want to let you know that I was the same way at the beginning of my senior year last year.

I took the ACT 3 times and got my score up from a 19 to a 21. I am so sure that if I had studied my Princeton Review Crash Course to the ACT Book a bit more, I would had gotten my grade where I wanted it to be.

So I recommend taking the ACT one or even two more times and if you are a procrastinator like I was, use that crash course book for studying. It's not boring and it really helps you get familiar with the ACT test process. Or, if you're not lazy, go ahead and get the big Princeton Review ACT book!

Make sure to have fun and do as much as you can during your senior year, because everything hits the fan after high school graduation.

  4. If you have a lot of good extracurriculars and an interesting application essay, they might, but it would probably help a lot to retake the ACT.  You're score will probably improve, and with such a good GPA, you should be able to get in a lot more easily.
