If there is a difference, does it depend on the context it is used or is it an absolute difference?

  1. I think there is a difference. Existence means a person has found meaning and purpose. Existing does not, a person can be existing but be doing nothing with their life.

  2. it depends on the context.  existence as in life: a person can be alive but not truly live.  existence as in a mason jar: that mason jar exists.  that mason jar continues existence.  must be boring to be a mason jar.

  3. I believe there is a difference.

We talk about existence in a general sense.

Where as existing is more temporally oriented as a term for things that currently exist.
