What is eyebrow threading?

I went to the mall and saw a kiosk where the lady was doing "eyebrow threading". Is this like eyebrow waxing? If so, is it longer lasting?

  1. It is more like tweezing than waxing.  It can last quite awhile.  The ladies who do this are mostly experts who have been doing this almost since birth.  I live in a predominantly Indian neighborhood, and all the women who frequent the eyebrow threading establishments rave about it.

The technician holds a long thread in both hands, wraps the thread around the hair to be removed and pulls.  It is very quick, and no more painful than using a tweezer, and like tweezing, it gets less painful over time.  You can see the video below for a sample of how it's done.

  2. It;s an indian/middle eastern custom and it hurts like h**l. But your brows will look nice afterwards!

  3. Yes. It's like waxing but they thread of each hair with a stringing technique. So it's more Persis.I've heard it hurts more than waxing and my friend got like a cut or something from it.

  4. Threading has the same affect as waxing. All it is are threads that are knotted together to wrap around the hair follicle and it pulls out the hair.I would rather wax.I heard its more painful than waxing and longer to get done.
