Fantasy football is basically a game where you select players from the NFL player pool to comprise your own team of players. Each league is different, but the setup can have any number of positions and players which make up each team. Once you pick your team, it is then matched against other teams in your league. The stats your team accumulates each week (in a head to head league) is matched against other teams (each stat category is assigned a point value which is attributed to your team total, ie. if you have a running back who scores a TD, your team gets 7 points, etc). The team with the highest score for the week wins the week. In a points league, the points just keep counting till the end of the year where the highest total wins. In a rotisserie league, each stat category in the league is a category that your team achieves a rank in. The rank you get provides a point value (ie. in a 10 team league, if you lead in touchdowns you get 10 points for that category). Each category total is then added up to give a final value which is compared to the other teams in the league. It may sound a little complicated, but its not. Basically you are pitting your football knowledge against others to see who can make the better team any given year.
