  1. It's called "paying farmers not to grow crops".

  2. That shouldn't be a big deal.  do you want to have a certain animal or several different animals?  Farm is a very general term, mostly it means you are growing/cultivating something for market or your own use.  There are horse farms, pig farms, dog farms, etc. . .   Don't feel that you need to include plants to be a farmer.  Good Luck!

  3. I don't understand the question. Farming without the plants is still farming. i.e. chicken farmers, pig farmers etc.

  4. you can have animal and only animals and still call it a farm. i was a ranch manager and all we had were cows and the name of the place was san felipe farm not a ranch but yet we didnt grow any crops other than cattle we bought all of our grain and hay

  5. Well I was a dairy farmer.  You kind of need plants such as hay corn, ect... to feed your animals.  You can be as I call it a fun farmer, with beef cattle (ones you do not have to milk but you have to by feed) ducks, chickens, Horses, Geese.  Its all fun.  But It can be a little expensive.  The chickens you can sell there eggs because everyone loves fresh organic eggs.  and the food is a little expensive especially if the season was not the greastest

  6. I don't think you would like farming  with no plants.  It could be done if you raised chickens and hogs in confinement housing, and bought calves and raised them in the feed lot and bought all of your feed from the feed store.  I don't think it would be very satisfying.  If you grew at least one plant, grass, you could at least raise free range chickens, pigs, ducks, cattle, goats, sheep, etc.  You would still have to buy all of your feed and hay but you could get by with that, with a little bit less profit, but it could still be a nice life for you.  It would also be a good life for your animals.

  7. This type of farming is called ANIMAL HUSBANDRY or if  you want fish, ACQUATIC FARMING.

  8. how about fish farms
