Question:

What is fault 231 on a Hoover HNL8146 washing machine?

I have found a sheet inside the washer stating 'MP5 fault sheet assembly line, fault code 231.'

The drum squeaks on turning and isn't that loose. I suspect a problem with the drum suspension. Does anyone know what this fault code relates to?
