  1. 3 pages? are you kidding.  Is this a homework assignment or research paper or something that you have to turn in?

Anyways a fixed pitch prop is used in the smaller prop planes ie. 152, 172.  The angle of the blades cannot be changed and with an increase of power as an increase in RPM.  They are not as efficient as constant speed props, but they still work.

  2. look it up genius

  3. Propeller blades are aerofoils which, while rotating, strike the air at a certain angle to push the air back. They are set at such an angle (the pitch) which is designed for optimum performance of the engine/aircraft on which these are to be installed.

On propellers where this pitch need not be varied during the flight envelope of the aircraft, the blades are set at a certain angle which cannot be changed. The increase/decrease in the power is obtained by opening or closing the throttle which merely makes these run fast or slow. Such propellers are called 'fixed pitch propellers'.

  4. I suspect that you will not be satisfied, no matter what our answers are.

A fixed pitch propeller is one that is one solid piece and the angle of the blades cannot be changed.  It would be hard to expand that to three pages, even if you could convince someone there was a good reason to.

For more information, try an internet search on "airplane propeller."  Do it yourself--you can't trust us.

  5. Please explain for at least 3 pages or more why you want to know what is a fixed pitch propeller. I too need more information as to why I would want to do your homework.

  6. do you want a brief explanation or do you want someone to do your home work for you...

briefly: a fixed pitch propeller is not capable of changing the pitch (angle of the blades) in flight... some are completely fixed and others can be adjusted but only on the ground because it requires taking apart the entire hub (dome like bulge in the center of the prop) assembly
