My family and I are scheduled to catch a flight from Dayton to Atlanta for a layover and then catch another flight from there to Florida. What is it like to fly at night and how much of a difference it is than flying in the day?

  1. It sound good that you are flying but if you are pregnant then you will have to take some precautions-

    1. When the plane is taking off and landing, remember to keep cotton buds in your ear because of air pressure the first time when you will fly there will be irrisistable pain in your ears which can be hazardous to your child.

    2. Always keep the seat belt for yourself and your 2 year old child.

3.Dont overeat in the plane by which you can vomit.

4.Keep your attention diverted into someting or the other or else you will get really bored.

Dont worry i have travelled in a plane a lot of times so with my experience in hand i am telling you all this.

There is not much difference in flying in night and flying in the day but in the night you will find it a little difficult to sleep(as you are flying for the first time) but after 1 or 2 hours u will feel comfortable.

Please do give me the best answer!!!!!

  2. When you take off and land, you can see lots of pretty lights out of the window. During the flight, its completely black outside, so you can't see anything. Apart from that, its the same as flying in the daytime.

  3. Flying is always the same, at night or day. The only difference is at night it is dark outside and most people choose to sleep. It is fun to fly and you shouldn't be nervous, if you are.

  4. It feels the same (ears popping/pressure wise) and the amount of time it takes at night is the same as day.  The only difference is what you get to see.  At night you can't see as much out your window after you take off and get up high in the air and away from the cities.

I like flying during the day because I like to look out and see stuff below.  However, because of the elevation for most of the flight you only see clouds.

I've flown in and out of Pittsburgh, Philadelphia, New York, Atlanta, Memphis, Dallas, Houston, Phoenix, Chicago, San Diego, Madrid, Paris, Mexico City, and Munich.

My favorite night flights have always been flying into Pittsburgh--the city lights are really beautiful because they reflect off of all the rivers.  Sometimes I've flown in when they were setting off fireworks at a baseball game--the stadium is under the flight path.

My favorite day flights were into Mexico City.  It was rad! During the day I could see different currents of water in the gulf of Mexico, then the mountains (they were gorgeous), and finally we came over the city.  The city is huge--it feels like you're taking forever to fly over it and into the airport.
