  1. Foundation is the skin colored cream/powder/or liquid that you put on first.

Then you apply blush, bronzer, eyeshadow, whatever.

Highly pigmented eyeshadow means it is not sheer, and has a lot of dense "color" to it. They generally last on your eyes longer, wear better.

And can double as an eyeliner.

  2. *Foundation serves as a base for makeup.  It evens out your skin tone, covers minor imperfections, and gives makeup something to "stick" to.  Foundation is available in liquid, cream, and powder formulas and can be purchased from a plethora of makeup companies (my personal favorite being Everyday Minerals)... just google it!  ^_^ It's important to choose a foundation that's as close as possible to your skin tone; otherwise it will look like you're wearing a mask.  Some companies (such as Everyday Minerals) offer free sample kits so that you can find your perfect shade) and others have representatives in stores like Macy's who can find your shade for you.

*If eyeshadow is very pigmented, there is just a lot of dense color in it (as opposed to sheer eyeshadow, which is less colored and lets your skin show through a bit).  Eyeshadow that is very pigmented shows up well even if you don't use a lot.  For a picture of someone wearing eyeshadow that is quite pigmented, check out: http://www.flickr.com/photos/n00b/115554...
