What is france relationship with the darfur genocide?

does france have anything to do with the sudenese gov. and how its going? since its part of the united nations. im not sure about this topic i wanna learn more. plz help meeee......

The Republic France at the moment holds the rotating presidency of the EU. Has along with a number of EU members including Ireland army personal stationed in Chad protecting refugees from Darfur. There is a fear that rebels in Chad see the presence of their former Colonial masters will take sides with the government of Chad in the Civil war that is going on there. France has no diplomatic ties with Sudan and has in fact called for such things as a no fly zone to be put in place around Darfur in the last few months.
