What is freshman friday?

can someone plz explain to me what freshman friday is.

I think this is when a school has the freshmen come on the Friday before school starts for everyone.  They may get a little orientation, their schedule, books, etc.  My nephew who is starting 9th grade went on Friday to do those things and he starts school on Monday.

Freshman Friday is just a rumor/myth. It used to happen, but it is now banned and I have never seen it happen or have heard of it happening in any school in my area.

Freshman Friday used to be the first Friday of the year when the upperclassmen would harass/bully the freshmen. Again, there is no reason to worry. You are just hearing about it because people want to scare you, not because it actually happens.

On fridays all the freshmens get jumped.

I would assume it's when the freshman at your school all go to school together without any other classes (sophomore, junior, senior) there.

Most of the people here are wrong. Freshman Friday is when the upperclassmen pick on the freshman. i.e. shoving into lockers, throwing into the trash, kicking their asses. Unfortunately, i just happen to be going into 9th grade.

wow umm.. so i'm guessing most of the kids here are like 8th graders or lower who hasn't experienced freshman friday.

DEPENDING ON WHAT SCHOOL YOU GO TO, freshman friday is the first and last friday of the school year where freshmen either get jumped, egged, or thrown other stuff at.. it usually only happens in public schools around "urban" areas.

my school is brutal with it.. we wait around school corners waiting for freshman to go by. we have no mercy either.
