surfing is the best thing i have ever done..

kiteboarding all right, but not as exhilirating as surfing

I have tried both (well, I surf regularly, and kiteboarded twice).... and this is hard to answer. I fell flat on my face kiteboarding... it hurt.

Overall, I have to say surfing... mostly because it is much less of a production to do. Grab your board and go without messing with the kite.

Also, surfing you can sit in the water and socialize with friends, or just enjoy peace, while waiting for a wave... where kiteboarding there are no breaks... and you are sore as c**p afterwards... much worse then surfing, even on a day with heavy drift.

I do surf, but I think hang gliding is way more "funner."

Both are a blast it really depends on the day and the conditions. If its a glassy day and the waves are cracken I'm on my surf board no doubt. But if everything is all blown out and there is nothing but wind chop, grab the kite and head on out. They are different things and have to be thought of that way. as long as you are in the water you should be having fun.
