  2. You seem to be new to investing in the stock market.  And of course, we would advise caution; as you would be transacting on the future of the future of the stock of an underlying corporate entity about which you would only know as much as the next guy.  

    Would suggest that you meet an investment advisor to understand how it all works.  As you would be taking on risk which is not necessary to be taken on in your individual capacity.

    However, sticking with stocks and shares may be a better idea; as here you would be dealing in part ownership of the underlying corporate entity.

  4. Futures is a derivative instrument in which you try to trade on the future price of an asset or a security.  You can trade on the future prices of the Stock Market Indices like the Nifty or you can also trade in individual Stock futures.

    Going short means that you expect that the price of a counter will come down in the future, so you will sell now.  Similarly going long implies that you expect the price of a stock/index to go up in the future, so you will buy it now.
