  1. I believe that its like saying that men should be masculine and women feminine, stuff like that, its stereotyping because your grouping a bunch of people together, and saying they have to be that.

  2. Only women should be nurses, or school teachers.

Only men should lead corporations or better yet, be the president.

Women are more emotional, illogical, and crazy.

Men are more logical, put together, and level headed.

Women can be s**y, but if a guy is, he's assumed to be g*y.

Women can spend hours in the bathroom primping, but a guy isn't supposed to.

Women are supposed to be sensitive, kind, and compassionate.  Men are supposed to be hard, strong, and not show emotion or cry.

Women are supposed to be submissive and subserviant.  Men are supposed to be dominant and providers and be independent.

    If a man sleeps around, he's considered a stud, if a woman does, she's considered a **** or a w***e.

    All these are gender stereotypes.

  3. A stereotype is a fixed or conventional notion or conception about a person, group, idea, etc., held by a number of people, and allowing for no individuality. As such, there are some preconceived notions about the way men and woman should behave. For example men are thought to be bold, tough, logical, and not given to emotion. Women are thought to be passive, weak, and give more weight to their emotional state. These ideas treat all men and women as a "class" of people, making generalizations about these specific genders while forgetting that each man or woman is an individual person with a free will and the ability to be self-determined.

  4. Women not making the same pay as men is gender bias for sure. The blond bimbo, the muscle bound jock, the dumb cheerleader. the audio/video nerd, the stern librarian, the father as disciplinarian, the mother as the care giver...all gender stereotypes.

EDIT: WHY the thumbs down. It is because I am a woman right?! J/k but for real why the thumbs down. I just supplied some stereotypes!? Do I offend?
