I am in no doubt you are aware Josie that George is 14 years old, *A MINOR*, that means a child under 16 years of age. George being British means  his personal details will remain that way as he is covered by the DPA, like anyone else in this country, he has the right to his privacy. For anyone to find this information and post it on a live forum would mean they have broken the law, any one with any sense wont do that.

Even if someone did have his number, I don't think they would be giving it out to random people on the internet. Just imagine, would you like your friends to give out your phone number or address to strangers?

In the real world, we have to protect each other's privacy to make sure our own privacy is protected, too. Can you imagine how devastating and dangerous it would be for a website to allow random strangers to share very personal information about someone who they don't know at all and post it for all the world to see? It would be terrible if the wrong creap who just browsed on through found that exchange of information and used it for something very devious. The reality is that there are creaps in this world and that's exactly what they do.

So as a society, we have standards that may seem strict when you innocently want something that you know you personally won't use and you ask for it over the internet. But the real world says that if we gave it to you, we have a responsibility for how things shake out with every person who takes that information and uses it.

Rather than risking a stalker or internet pervert starts harassing George, we take the responsibility upon ourselves, and Yahoo takes the responsibility upon itself, and we don't share personal information on the internet that can be used to harm or harass anyone. It's just because it's the right thing to do.
