What is ghost in the shell about?

my friend says its really cool and i should watch it, but i want some more opinions. what do u think of it?

i like it a lot. but its kinda confusing. computers have souls and the souls enter the computer... eh.. i've already forgot. my boyfriend is into anime and i like some... but i did enjoy appleseed. that was really cool.

ghost in the shell, especially the last full length one was really interesting but it just kind of hard to comprehend. maybe its just me.

The Ghost in the Shell films and series is an outstanding anime involving a crack team , Section 9 , employed against cyber-crimes and cyber-criminals . The team , led by "The Major" Motoko Kusanagi utilizes tactics and strategems often beyond the pale of the law . There is a lot of intrigue between other governmental agencies which make for some interesting scenarios .

Overall , the anime films and series is exceptionally well thought out , written and animated - outstanding in every respect !

I would suggest viewing the films prior to the two series even though Ghost in the Shell : Stand Alone Complex is alongside a separate time-line .
