  1. The global warming debate today is about a theroy where CO2 is trapped in the atmosphere and causes a greenhouse effect. The problem with this theroy is that the largest contributor to the green house effect is water vapor. CO2, compare to water vapor, is practically non-existant - even with the minute amout man contributes.

    So, Global Warming is not even a sound theroy, yet, politicians and others who will benefit from whipping folks up into a freenzy.

  2. A LIE

  3. ummm its some bullshit made up that democrats can ***** about, so i suggest pickin a new topic kid

  4. Shoo B pretty much summed it all up. The main greenhouse gases are carbon dioxide, methane and nitrous oxide, all these gases trap warmth in the atmosphere. If we had no greenhouse effect, the Earth would be uninhabitable. Unfortunately, the burning of fossil fuels (coal, oil, gas) for industry and energy production is releasing millions of years worth of carbon dioxide into the atmosphere all at once, increasing the amount of warmth from the sun which is trapped in the atmosphere. Although the Earth naturally varies in temperature due to many external effects, such as the temperature of the sun, orbital cycles etc, the release of carbon dioxide on such massive levels is pushing the Earth's temperature up dramatically and quickly.

    Some people believe climate change and global warming to be unreal, I have no idea why, but a nice summary of how to crush their arguments is here....

    edit: a few people on here claim global warming is not real, however, without global warming the planet would be too cold for life as we know it. The current issue we are facing as a civilisation is that we are increasing the levels of global warming, leading to climate change.

    I recommend you also read Real Climate, a forum run by some of the world's top climate scientists;

  5. Global warming is a hypothesis that suggests the planet is getting hotter every year.  Even though there are some scientists  that agree with it, there are an equal or greater number that disagree.Some agree for purely political reasons and some agree because they will profit from doing so. A case in point is the Noble Peace Prize winner Al Gore, who has absolutely no science background. He is the co-founder and the CEO of a company that sells carbon credits. These basically allow the polluters to buy carbon offsets, which means they can pay to plant trees or subsidize alternative energy, while still polluting and jet setting around the world to spew their views on global warming, or to drive their suv's, or to cool their mansions, while at the same time are telling us to conserve and go green. The fact is that the earth has gone through periods of both heating and cooling, and we have been in a cooling trend for the past ten years. It may well reverse in ten years, but the overall change in temperatures through all of these periods is 1 degree celsius. Polar ice melting and many other subjects brought up by the eviro nuts should be reviewed carefully, as their "data" is flawed and misleading. Why do they claim that co2 is a harmful green house gas? They have re-written the science books that I learned from, and have tried to indoctrinate our young people into a false belief. Fact: through the process of photosynthesis every green plant absorbs co2, and combined with water, produces oxygen. You should google photosynthesis. Then you will find the answer to your question, that global warming is a farce. We still need to develop viable alternative fuels, but the planet will survive until we have them.

  6. While most people don't believe in global warming...i do!

    Global warming is caused by several things including the green house affect, polution, and more.

    Global warming is the term used to describe a gradual increase in the average temperature of the Earth's atmosphere and its oceans, a change that is believed to be permanently changing the Earth’s climate forever.

    The increased volumes of carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gases released by the burning of fossil fuels, land clearing, agriculture, and other human activities, are believed to be the primary sources of the global warming that has occurred over the past 50 years.

    Changes resulting from global warming may include rising sea levels due to the melting of the polar ice caps, as well as an increase in occurrence and severity of storms and other severe weather events.

    Animals throughout the world are losing their homes to this horrible event, and we need to stop it!

    I don't care whether you believe in global warming or not....but you can still work to save this planet from disaster. Recycle and be as green as possible because we can all make a difference....

    Global Warming is not made up...it is real and happening and we need to stop it!

  7. Pure and absolute lies made up to control unintelligent persons.  Hit your teacher with that.

  8. No such thing ~ Our planet has been heating & cooling since existence.  Sorry, not a long answer but it's just all hype.
