  1. All broadcasters (typically local stations with the big antennas) will stop transmitting NTSC analog signals and continue only with digital signals.

What this means is that if you don't have cable or satellite and rely on an antenna to receive your TV signal, and you own a TV that does not have an  ATSC tuner or the like, then you will be unable to get any programming... unless you purchase a converter box for your TV.

If you currently have cable or a satellite, you'll be fine and won't miss a thing.

Is this what you're thinking of? Hope I helped!! Bye!! :D

  3. The date is Feb 17, 2009 in the US.

At the end of that day most of the old analog over the air transmitters will be shut down.

This means that if you get TV signals through an antenna you  will need either a converter box or a TV or recorder that has a digital tuner built into it. (A "DTV" or "HDTV") to keep watching those free broadcasts.

Most areas already have the new digital broadcasts that replace the analog ones.
