I dont know how to explain this... for the past few days when im looking at the monitor i fall into some sort of daydream (i focus on the monitor and seem to be unaware of the desk, surroundings etc) with a "glazed" view of whats on the monitor. I know its there but im not taking it in, could this be related to blood pressure or something?

Also sometimes my eyes seem to be "hurting" although they have been strained, or dry.

  1. If the same happens (pain/blurring) when you read anything close up, then you're probably long-sighted, and you could simply have not noticed the problem until it got this bad (probably when it started hurting).

If, however, it's really bad, you're certain it happened suddenly, and your eyes occasionally become bloodshot, then it could an infection.

Of course, if you haven't been sleeping properly, then it could be caused by fatigue, and a bit of extra sleep could clear it up.

Whatever it is, I suggest you go to your local optician for a check-up, just to be on the safe side. It could become serious, if left untreated.

Good luck, and I hope it turns out okay ;)

*EDIT* I just read your other post, which suggests that this problem occurred recently, and doesn't just affect your near vision (correct me if I'm wrong). In which case, yes, it could be a problem caused by high blood pressure, or possibly an infection, or something worse. Either way, it sounds serious, and I suggest you see someone as soon as you can, even if it's not affecting your day-to-day life.

There's no point in taking risks with your eyes!

    Again, good luck ^.^
