  1. Looks like someone lost the control at this case.

Today russian and nato officials had a meeting about georgia conflict, I'd guess nato really upset because russian land forces invade the georgian terratory ( a land no conflict )

Russians doesn't want to saw a Georgia who member of Nato, like Ukrania, Like Azerbeyjan .. they still had "Big,Strong Mother Russia" dream.

Many civilians died for this dream, looks like many more gonna die too. But fact is we can't allowed them for keep this, they must stop to kill people, they must turn back the borderline.

This is more than money, more than petrolium .. we are talking about lifes, we are talking about innocent civilians killed by a army who invade your country.

After todays meeting hope russia decide to stop. I'll prey for it.

  2. this is off the topic abit. but why does america (government) need to stick their noses into every countries problems. i turn on my tv to watch the news, and all I here is "US President Bush... "

    its getting out of hand!

  3. Whats happening is there is a little country called Georgia (former Soviet controlled), and big Russia wants it back.

And what the news won't tell you is there is big oil in the area, and America is too preoccupied to do anything about it.

  4. This is a pretty good synopsis from the BBC

Fingers crossed the current ceasfire will hold but it's a very tense situation.

  5. The President of Georgia is being punished by Russia for being an ally of America

  6. in Georgia, there are several provinces that in the 1990's won the right in civil war to self-authoritian rule (they are independant of Georgia politically but are not recognized internationally).  When peace was settled later on, Georgia would not have command of these territories.  Two of these provinces include Abkhazian and South Ossetia (North Ossetia is part of Russia).  The conflict rains around mostly South Ossetia.  Georgia claims that South Ossetia rebels attacked a Georgian village and they responded with what they describe acceptable military measures.  the South Ossetia rebels claim Georgia fired first.  During the 1990's, Russia offered citizenship to anyone in South Ossetia who wanted it.  About half the 70,000 people hold Russian passports now.  Russia felt that they have the right to protect their own (adopted?) people, so when Georgia attacked South Ossetia, they intervened in what they claim the right to protect their own people.  That is what has brought about this war
