What is going on in the AMA ............?

Only a couple of months ago The Errion Team Honda was disqualified for having a dodgy crank case, and now this:

Steve Rapp disqualified for having a bent (dodgy) rear tyre.

I dont understand these teams............ The rules are there and must be obeyed. The crew chiefs know that the bikes will be tested after the race win so why tamper with them ?

What next ? Mladin stripped of all his titles ?

Your thoughts please ?

  1. Unfortunately Wiggy it goes on all the time and it does seem to happen a lot with those who really should know better.

It is a sad reflection on the sport.

  2. I'd like to know exactly what the illegal mod to the tyre was.

All of these incidents are not helping the series right now, which as you know is in big trouble.

If Suzuki pulls out, I should have alot more free time on the weekends next summer....as I will only be following WSB and MotoGP.  I'll hit a track day to race with the other guys.....

  3. Hi Wiggysan. what with this rumour too

    http://www.superbikeplanet.com/2008/Jun/...

I think the AMA is on a real slippery slope to oblivion.

teams will always try to BEND the rules to gain any small advantage. and I agree with that saying  "its just how you interpret the rule book " if you go too far you get caught. if you stand still you get passed.  Catch 22. and as much as I respect 51s answers. I have to Disagree about Ben. if he gets the right ride he will be a threat for the title as soon as he learns the tracks. going to WSBK will do nothing for his

Reputation. even if he walks it. if he takes a second string bike he will be noticed (as if he hasn't already) and will be given the ride eventually. But i don't need to preach Ben to you do I.

  4. Not sure what that is about. We're still waiting for the explanation.

It's still the Suzuki show here in superbike. I wish old Hodgson would have scored the third Suzuki ride instead of the Honda. Maybe if he was on the same team as ben and matt. He could get a tire he could win on.

I personally feel Ben won't do squat in Motogp. I think he should head to WSB where the playing field is almost level. Then we will see how he does. Since everyone has the same tire
