Question:

What is going on...?

Last month I got my period 10 days late, on the 30th instead of the 20th. Before this I had never had a late period I could recall. It was also a day or two shorter and a little bit lighter than usual, but still definately a period with the cramps I typically get, but also it came during the day instead of early morning like it usually does. Around the 19th of this month (around the time I would be getting my period) I had very light brown discharge for a couple of days but it wasn't anything like my normal period. Now I have had gas like I did when I was pregnant before (I have a 19 month old son) and I am having a hard time eating or drinking anything other than water without feeling nauseated. I also can't eat nearly as much as I used to. I've taken three pregnancy tests in the past three weeks, two different brands but the last two were both cheap ones. The last one I took was Saturday and it was negative. Literally as soon as I took the last test I got what I thought was my period because it was bright red blood but only for a second. I didn't have the typical cramping or anything, just the cramps that you feel from the gas like when you get when you are pregnant (I usually have a very regular cycle with severe cramps the first day of my period.) I have been having unprotected s*x with my boyfriend and we are both very aware that I could be pregnant, which is fine, so please no safe s*x preaching.. =) Just wondering if you girls or guys could help me out!!

  1. hey, im not too sure exactly what your problem is, but my period never comes on the same date, NEVER!! i just get it at any time, it really sicks but i know im getting it because of cramps ect like you.

i also get a little brown discharge afterwards, so thats normal too. as for anything else worrying you, it could be a STD but that is the worst case scenario, i would just get checked out by your doctor if your worried but it doesnt sound too serious!

  2. Go to the doc and get a blood test. It's the only way you'll know for sure!

  3. YES ITS NATURAL,DONT WORRY AT ALL.

  4. Your best bet is to go to the doctor. I know this could happen if you just got less active than usual or pregnancy or if you have gained weight there are various causes but you really need to get checked just incase theres something serious wrong. Sometimes it can also be your body changing

ever since I had my kids I do things like that but I have weight gain and my tubes tied. you should have a normal period so I would get a pap right away.

  5. 30% of women get their period at least once while preggers and they are usually shorter and lighter. The bleeding before your period was most likely implantation bleeding (that is if you are pregnant). You said the last test you took was negative?? What about the others, were they negative too?? That info would be helpful. Why not schedule a doctors appointment so that you can get a blood test done and find out for sure!

    GOOD LUCK!!!!
