From what I've heard he's pretty close.  Agents like to use the July first deadline as a tactic to get teams to cough up the dough before the open market begins.  Expect the signing to be announced this week.  Otherwise he's just a RFA he might not even get an offer which would mean that the Flyers would probably get him at a discount.

during the draft holmgren claimed that a deal was in the works so i guess that means soon. it is rumored to be about 3 years for 15 million
