  1. I agree with M K, but I would just like to add Greek Cypriots to his lengthy list.

  2. An accurate information is described here:

    https://www.cia.gov/library/publications...

    I am not sure what "ethnic Greek" means. Such terms do not apply anymore in open societies. With respect to Greek citizenship or nationality (if that's what you mean), 93% of people living in Greece have a Greek passport. The remaining population are foreigners.

  3. 96% of the Greek citizens are ethnic Greeks (including 1%-3% Vlachs and Arvanites that self identify as Greeks. Vlachs are not Greeks by origin but indigenous Balkan peoples, while the origin of Arvanites is disputed)

    2% Romas (Gypsies)

    0,9% approximately Muslims basically of Pomak, Turkish and Roma origin.

    0,3% approximately Armenians.

    0,05% approximately Jews.

    0.06%  approximately Slavomacedonians and Bulgarians.

    Immigrants make up maybe 10% or more (legals and illegals) of the Greek population.

    Most of them are Albanians, Bulgarians, Romanians, Georgians, Americans, Russians etc)

    P.S: One of those immigrants is also  PARTILAC C, and like many of them is an illitarate and uncivilized person that does not respect the country that he is living. Report him, his post is full of insults..

  4. around 90-93% officially..rest are immigrants

  5. A person is ethnic greek, as long as he wants to be ethnic greek. I define the term "ethnic greek", cause lately many racist neo-n***s have showed up and support theories that only Hitler would invent. So the vast majority of the Greek citizens define themselves as "ethnic Greeks". In that majotity I include the Pontic Greeks, the Minor Asian Greeks, the Arvanites, the Aromanians, the Cretans, the Islanders, the Peloponneseans, the Roumeliotes, the Macedonian Greeks, the Thessalians, the Thracian Greeks, the Constantinople Greeks, the Epirotes, the Tsakonians, the Maniots, the Sarakatsani, the Karagkounides, the Heptanesians, the orthodox christian Roma etc. Only 1-2% of the greek citizens  are members of the recognised muslim minority of western Thrace (of turkish, pomak and muslim roma origins), who do not claim to be ethnic greek.  18 years ago about 98% claimed to be ethnic greeks, but since the fall of the Eastern bloc many immigrants  from those countries came (most of them illegally) to Greece to find a job.

    @PARTILAC C:
