What is going to give you a better picture inbuilt freeview on a HD t.v. or a freeview box via gold scart?

hi i wondered if anyone can help

what is going to give me better picture for freeview?

the inbuilt freeview on my sony bravia 23inch or a freeview box connected via premium gold scart cable?

freeview loks great via the in built but i wanted to make sure.

anyone know?......

  1. I don't think any difference between the two would be down to the scart; there'd be more variation caused by the quality of the receiving electronics. Even an inbuilt receiver is going to be on a pcb connected to the main board using some sort of connector/wires.

  3. The inbuilt tuner will give a better picture because there are no connections.  The 'HD' bit is largely irrelevant as the Freeview picture is only Standard Def.

  4. The inbuilt tuner will give better results than a box

    SCART is an analogue connect, therefore you are basically converting a digital signal to analogue to send it down the scart, then back to digital in the TV resulting in loss of picture quality.
