That is an awesome question.  I am really afraid of what is going to happen.  I think of my children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren and so on.  I don't want them to have to suffer for what we did.  All I know to do is to recycle and help pick up trash on our roads and do what you are doing....find out what can be done by asking questions.

The world is going to be here in 20 years.... Polluting activities by human are a MAJOR concern and rightfully so, but as far as global warming... See the earth has its own mind and it has its thermal and global climate trends that are in multi-faceted cycles and some of those cycles are on much much longer scales than even 10 back to back human lives can reach... such as "Ice Ages".... Id say it is possible to have some depression, natural disaster, hunger and other maladies go on with global warming, but In the GRAND scheme of things the earth will correct itself... AT or NOT... the cost of people's individual lives.

Rapture and End times? If I had a nickel for every time a date has been set for that and passed up without occuring years ago, Id be Donald Trump. And thats coming from a catholic mind! No one is going to be judged for anything people are what peoples animal minds make them.. no more and no less. when you get hit in the head with a hammer it has the power to change your entire personality... people are innocent... believe it or not. IMHO, early or later, the earth is going to be extinct, you know, our only home - this earth has its own life as like the humans are born and humans are die. Perhaps the extinction wouldn't occur in 20 years. Global warming is happening. It may not be triggered by human, but definitely we're accelarating the process. What can make the earth a place to live longer and safer: many things.., It is all in human hands. Simple things such as being nice & gentle to nature, recycling, riding bicycles and support renewable energy etc would definitely contribute.

You see, people go on vacation to see wonderful nature, national parks, oceans and all other wonderful nature works, but people get back from their vacation and forget what they can do to save those beautiful nature on our only home-"Earth". People need to respect the Earth to save their life and their future generations life. It starts from a little things such as not dumping their garbage on roadside.

No one knows.  We can guess and speculate all we want, but no one really knows.  I can relate to your obvious anxiety, however, because it sure doesn't look good.

Anyway, all you can do is to do your best environmentally -- personally and as an advocate for environmental issues (by staying informed and telling others).  That's all you can do.  

So do whatever you can, but whatever is going to happen is going to happen -- good or bad.

But, ONE THING IS FOR CERTAIN, you're achieving absolutely nothing by worrying about this ... so don't!  Relax.  There's absolutely no point in stressing out about this.

Our planet will survive until the Sun transcends into a Red Giant star and engulfs the Earth.

It's everyone else..Plants, animals and humans.and probably in that order, that as it currently stands, will become extinct, in the near future.

Global warming is something we're all now aware of and it is our resposibility to act on it. Especially if you plan on a family. It is not all lost us for us yet, but sadly it probably is too late for certain species (whom I think I feel more gutted for), ,,if the continuous pollution of air, seas and rivers, enabled& encouraged by total prats in America, India, Russia and China, continues. (Coutrys with the greatest contribution to pollution and least efforts for resolution by far)

The 'solution' for our own salvation, lies in our own destructive hands not by what's in a nicey story book.

To get close to realisticly making a change many factors have to be looked at..I will address the main one on here..having a reasonable No of children minum of 1 or 2. Population increase has been staggering..in just 50 years world population has doubled. Prior to this world population had been relatively guadual. In 1000AD 400 million, 1750 800 million into1850 and there were 900.

By country, a moderate increase is 0.2%over  years, however Africa and other develping conutries figures are more like 78% and higher, this statistic dumbfounded me when I first came across it, it becomes clear that certain peoples beliefs actually account for the main problem, in both the lack of contracption available in these parts as well as peoples refusal to use it.   .

At the current rate (which is also always increasing{ world popultion will doube every 40 years, meanng 12 billion by 2050, continuing at that rate Stephen Hawking predicts the human race would literally be standing side to side by the year 2800, (not tht we have a chance of getting quite so far at the moment)  and the Earth would glow red hot as seen from space, for energy out put required (and as wehave been harnesing unsustainable resources so far, I wouldn't put money on us having 'stuff'to burn if we are still knocking around!

It's positive message makes you realise that a difference can be made if wecan get people to realise no magic holyspell is going to wish it all away...if there is something 'up' or 'out' there that could help...it would proably take pity on theflamin maggots before humans ot a look in

no one knows for sure... the earth might end.. .it might just get worse and an unhealthy place to be. it may get better. but what ever does happen it would probably more then likely inevitable.

i read an article on aol a few days ago that was about how scientists in Sweden or Switzerland or someplace created a massive particle accelerator and this august they plan to test it out which may result in the formation of tiny black holes here on earth which may destroy everything. or these micro black holes would just disappear on their own and do nothing. either way is it worth the risk....
