What is going to happen to the airlines when gas reaches $5/gallon? How about $6/gallon?

Should the government be rebuilding the passenger railroad system? How are Americans going to get around the country? Are we going to travel at all?

  1. you have to remember that airline don't use the same gas as us, they use jet fuel, which is more expensive but also runs on a different scale. So if we go up it doesn't necessarily mean jet fuel goes up as well or even at the same amount.

    People will still fly, they'll just pay more then ***** about it.  I think rail is good (it works so well i europe) but to start pretty much from scratch is almost impossible , it could happen but they are more likely to give some tax breaks to airlines to keep their prices down.
