It all depends on what suburb you are moving to. This goes for any city&#039;s suburbs, they just aren&#039;t all carbon copies of one another. You have to consider the type of area and the people that live there. Take Baltimore for example, one suburb Towson is ritzy and can be upscale in some areas, but if you go east or west of Towson, you&#039;ll find a lot of middle-class areas. You also want to consider how close the suburb is to it&#039;s city. Most immidiate suburban areas to their respective cities can be condensed and more urban that suburban areas further out that are more spaced out and rural.

I really don&#039;t know where you are moving to, but just if you are moving to a suburban area ANYWHERE, don&#039;t just pick one. Research the area and find out if it&#039;s only right for you, but that it&#039;s also a decent and safe area to live in. While most suburban areas are all right, the vast majority of it&#039;s residents work for a living, SOME suburban areas can still be seedy at times depending on where you are.

I guess it depends on the suburb. I grew up in a suburb on the southside of Indianapolis. If I drove 30 north, I was in the city, 30 minutes south, and I was out in the country. It was very handy depending on whether I felt like shopping or camping!

I moved downtown Indianapolis a few years ago, and while I loved living there, I missed the suburbs. Now I live in a suburb in North Carolina and I&#039;m missing the city!

I don&#039;t have children yet, but if I did, I would definitely raise them in a suburb over the city. Generally, the cost of living is cheaper, and the school systems are better. There&#039;s usually less crime.
