I want to know if letting parakeets peck at beach towels are good. My parakeet hides in it and pecks at it. Anything is available besides sticks and cuddle bones.

  1. Toilet paper is an awesome idea! My conure really loves to shred regular paper. I use that news print stuff that has no ink on it. He seems to love biting it and pecking at it. You can get inventive with it to. I don't know if your asking about ideas about any other toys or not, but my conure absolutely loves to play with beads. So I have chosen beads that are about the right size for him and strung them together on ropes and hung them for him. I also picked up a hanging toy rack for him which he loves to have a ball put in so he can run around chasing it.http://cfy.manufacturer.globalsources.co...

  2. i wouldn't let him because the dyes can be dangerous. i would go to a pet store and get a wood ladder or wood toy made for birds. my parakeets absolutely love to peck at their hanging wodden toys. he should have a cuttle bone to get him all the nutrients he needs. wood sticks in his cage can provide good perchs and good pecking toys as well. at pet stores they sometimes also have cloth toys or nests, although you may have to look in the ferret or small mammal section to find them. then you know the dyes are safe and your parakeet can still hide and peck at it.

  3. A towel is fine just don't hold the bird in a towel or it can get in distrest

  4. Try toilet paper, they love to shred it. Or for a fun treat buy that pet grass sold at petco.
