I don't want to dye my hair or put highlights in it with dye, but I want to get my hair a 1/2 or 1 shade lighter. I heard lemon juice was good, but my sister said it wouldn't lighten it to much, which is good. I just wanted to know if their were any products with lemon juice or without that would work as well. and if you know, does lemon juice damage or dry out your hair?

  1. sun-in is what i use and i love it, and lemon juice makes your hair stiff for a while

  2. Put lemon juice in your hair and lay out in the sun. Do this for several days. After you come back in out of the sun wash and then rinse your hair with a conditioner. It will be silky smooth and lighter.

It won't be damaged or dry if you do it this way.

If you don't want to use lemon juice and are lucky enough to live near the ocean then get your hair wet with ocean water and lay in the sun and keep repeating until your hair reaches the desired look. Either way you'll need to wash and then rinse with a hair conditioner.

  3. Bleach

  4. you can use l'oreal a touch of sun

    or sun-in

or lemon juice and the sun

    hope this helped

    have a great day
