What is good to use as a filler for siding damaged areas?

These are wood as well as masonite areas. Would auto body filler work, or is there a simpler less expensive material I could use and just paint over?

  1. You could try M&H Ready Patch they sell it at Home Depot in the paint dept. just fill the low spots, you may have to do it a couple times if the holes are deep. then you can sand after it drys, then prime and paint

  2. I think the auto body filler would work well.  My friend did his wood door with it and it came out beautifully.  I don't know if wood filler would work on masonite or if it is less expensive.
