What is gothenburg (Sweden) like for a lads weekend away? i have heard drink is extremeley expensive?

please provide information on prices, places to go, things to do and friendlyness of the locals.

p.s we have already booked plane tickets but it is not too late to cancel if people think it is overpriced and boring

Go on a jaunt............Gothenburg for a day and evening out..... then train to Malmo and then a 30 minute train from there on to Copenhagen(Denmark)

If not, get up to Stockholm and Helsinborg.

I prefer Copenhagen,a truly nice city, you can enjoy a 45 minute £3 boat trip around the canals in the city..visit Trivoli amusement park for a nice day (2 minutes from the train station)..A great night out and a nice city just to stroll about too.

Gothenburg is definately not boring. Sweden is expensive when it comes to drinks but the city is weel worth a visit. It is the summer and Gothenburg is by the sea which makes it very popular amongst Swedish people to visit to party... definately think you should go but do bring alot of money :)

alcohol is very expensive all over Scandinavia but it is really not boring there :-)
