  1. regular admission

  2. Most racecourses in the UK have two separate enclosures (although some, like Royal Ascot have more).  The cheaper enclosure is generally called The Grandstand, in this area the dress code is much more relaxed (you can normally wear jeans) but there are fewer facilities and yuo won't get the best view of the racing.  The other enclosure is usually reffered to as Members, or Premier.  In this enclosure the dress code is more strictly enforced (smart attire, no denim, trainers, etc), but you have better facilities (more bars, etc) and a better view of the racing.  Obiviously, Members tickets cost more than Grandstand.  For example, on 2,000 Guineas day at Newmarket a Members ticket is £35 and a Grandstand ticket about £24.

Some racecourses also have a family enclosure which is where children can play but the parents can still experience the atmosphere of being at a racecourse.

Personally, I always go in Members.  I went Grandastand once - to the Epsom Derby - and it was awful.  Most people there seemed to want to get drunk and had little interest in the actual racing.
