What is groupthink effect on decision making quality?

It limits decision making quality.  This is why consultants have jobs...bring them in to help groups see other sides to decision making, and to present information that may be contrary to what the group thinks.  Poor decision making, e.g. JFK and the Cuban Missile Crisis, classic example of groupthink!  When everyone around you constantly agrees you fail to see the illogic and poor quality of your decisions.
