What is guitar hero?

Question

I keep hearing about this game, but I don't know what it's about and why people make such a big deal in regards to it. I heard that a 16-year old dropped out of school to play it full time. I'm not into heavy gaming so maybe someone could give me a short description of what exactly people are going crazy over. Thanks.

Guitar Hero is a video game where people hold a guitar, much like a real electric guitar, and hit the color coded buttons matching up to the same buttons on the screen while strumming this "switch" (they tried to make these motions similar to the ones on a real guitar).  Basically, what you are doing is playing the guitar line along with a famous rock song from the past, or from today.

It is a pretty simple concept, but some of the moves can get pretty complex.  I can even get addicted to this game, and I am not a big gamer.  It is just fun to play along with these awesome songs!

Its like a little fake guitar, Instead of strings you press colored buttons and hold down a thingy where you would actually "pick" . You pick a song out and its like those dance games where you stomp on the step  when the arrow gets to the line......... levels are easy, medium, hard and expert. Im only on easy hahaha

it is a game in that you have a guitar and there are 5 different colors and there is a note thing thhat the colors come down and when the color gets into the circle u have to press the button corresponding to the color

It's a game with a few color coded buttons

red, yellow, blue, green, black or something like that

and you have to press the buttons as they appear on screen

to make music with the program

its a just a complex version of "simple simon" i had as a kid

i tried playing it once, its pretty silly I have no idea why its so mind numbiling popular right now

It's a game where you have a controller shaped like a guitar.  As the cue colors scroll down the screen, you push the corresponding button on your controller, and strum the strum bar, thus "playing" the music.  It's wildly popular because it's fun to make music without the years of practice and work, and because the playing style is still relatively new in the gaming world.

guitar hero is just a game that makes you think that you are the rocker  all u are doing is pressing buttons on a guitar thats all nothing special
