  1. Gyroscopes are used to measure anglular (rotational) motion.  They are used in airplanes, rockets, satellites, missiles, armament (gun)  platforms, and other places where rotational motion must be measured and known.

    Gyro precision is how accurate the indication of rotation is relative to the true rate of rotation.

    If an object is rotating at a rate of 1.0000 degrees per minute, a precise gyro might indicate a rate of 1.0002 degrees per minute.  An non-precise gyro might indicate only 0.999 degrees per minute, or even 1.001 degrees per minute.

    Also... keep in mind that accuracy and resolution are two separate entities.   Precision can be a combination of both.
