What is handball anyway?

Seriously, is handball is a sport, and what is it. I have never heard of it, is it like wallball or sumthing?

theres team handball and court handball, two totally different sports, team handball being more well known

It depends on who you are.... I'm a big fan of "handball" but only when you mean the sport, much like raquetball but without a paddle (you use the palm of your hand) and usually played only with 1-3 walls unlike raquetball where you play with 4..... this sport is very popular in cities ive noticed and not much elsewhere.... all you need is a flat wall and a spaldine (raquetball or something).... I know during regular convo though when you refer to handball most people have incredibly different ideas about what sport it describes...
