  1. All over the world rapit deforestation is going on .The deforestation results in huge changes in rainfall, and this leads to  dire consequences Given the uncertainties associated with regional scale deforestation, it would be more than merely imprudent for anyone to advocate for policies and practices that would put into motion such an enormously risky global engineering experiment. This

is having and will have severe adverse impacts on local and national economies and  have global implications.

This said, determining the optimal scale and rate of forest transformation is a political question, one that must be answered by the governments and citizens  Given present population growth rates and per-capita Gross Domestic Product (GDP), resolving conflicts over forest land-uses will most likely be settled in favor of generating immediate, tangible, and assured benefits for today’s residents of the region, at the risk of jeopardizing potential, future, and largely intangible benefits that would accrue primarily to global citizens. Donors and the international community should seek ways to address the immediate priorities of local and national forest resource users so that short-term mining of forest resources does not jeopardize the long-term economic and intangible values of the forest.

  2. Hello

    WHEN THERE IS NO FOREST.

    THERE IS NO WORLD.

We all have take important action for preserve Forest.

  3. ok well this has been an issue forever. there is so much forests being cut down for living space its unbelievable. animals are losing there homes and rain forests are being destroyed. when we get rid of these forests like right now they are cutting down the amazon rain forest there are species and plant species going extinct and we don't even know half of them and some of these plants could help in like finding cures for diseases. its happened before.

there are organizations and small groups trying to stop this but big time people wont listen. its ridiculous.here are some sites I found interesting if you want to look....

also this is just one of the many problems we have right now. so everyone should try and help make our environment more clean.

  4. The forests of the world are being removed at a rate faster than they are being replaced.

Some of the effects of deforestation are increase in pollution, depletion of the ozone layer, increased warming of the climate, extinction of species, reduction in biodiversity, disruption of animal and plant populations, including human populations, and an increase in drought and desertification.  The effects of deforestation often are interrelated.

The rate of pollution increases.  When the number of trees is reduced, the risk that carbon monoxide will reach the atmosphere increases, which results in the depletion of the ozone layer and increases the rate of global warming.  The ozone layer is comprised mainly of oxygen or O3 molecules, and it serves as a shield against the harmful ultraviolet rays of the sun.  The oxygen atoms in the ozone react with carbon monoxide, and in the process, oxygen atoms are consumed.  The amount of oxygen in the upper atmosphere declines.  Ozone depletion would result.

Forests help to retain moisture in the air and thereby exert a cooling effect to nearby areas.  Without the cooling effect, the temperature of the local climate increases.

Forests trap a lot of the water that reaches the earth through rainfall.   The roots in particular trap a lot of it into the soil, where it remains long enough to replenish the soil.

As a result of deforestation, the water table is not being replaced adequately.  Without the forest to retain the rain water, it would evapourate too quickly.  The water table would be reduced, the soil would dry up and the wells would run dry.

When forests are removed, many animals that have the forest as their natural habitat have no place to live.  They risk being killed in large numbers during the process of trying to relocate.  Plant and animals species risk extinction, and biodiversity is lowered.

Human populations that rely on the forest as a way of life are forced to leave their homes to find a different way of making a living.  Aboriginal populations in particular are forced to move to the city, where they have a difficult time making an adjustment.

The most obvious solution to the problem would be reforestation, or the renewal of forests.  However, it generally proves to be a much more difficult task than deforestation.  The rate of reforestation has not kept up with the rate of deforestation.

  5. I think we have to use wood very wisely; and over and over. Teak, rosewood, oak and zebra woods, fill our thirst for wood floors and fine furniture. If we used renewable fast growth wood such as bamboo, pine and ceder, we would stop the demand for clear cutting of the rain forest that contribute to global warming. In the USA; theft of old growth trees like walnut, ash and oak would be limited; especially if there was no demand and no export of those species. Protection comes from everyone doing their job of not buying them, refinishing the old wood pieces and demanding products from renewable sources.

  6. no one is going to like my answer but the only way is to remove the users of the forest unless people stop popping out kids like there going out of style.if we dont stop nature will do it for us.
